Rocky's Whores of Pasadena - the world of MAYHEM

It was October of 1999 ; DEVO had just arrived to the LA area, and had heard of the great cast of Voyeuristic Intention (V.I.). On the very night he decided to see the show for the first time, the cast broke up, resulting in V.I. cancelling that weekend's performance as well as the following show. Seeing a cast in distress, DEVO offered his help and, that night DEVO and former Cast Leader of Rocky's Whores, Ray, met and agreed to work together to get a new show in place at the Rialto Theater. DEVO providing a helpful hand by providing performers barrowed from the neighboring Woodland Hills cast of Wild and Untamed Things (WUT). That collective group performed the last 2 shows under the banner of V.I., including the Halloween show that year. DEVO played Rocky for those shows.

Soon after that, the cast was slowly replaced with the first incarnation of Rocky's Whores. As the cast regrouped, DEVO stayed on as the part of Dr. Scott. Then on January 13th 2000, DEVO made his Rialto debut as Riff Raff, and the creative pursuit continued. Some times known as "MAYHEM," DEVO's interpretation of Riff Raff has taken on many non-traditional characteristics. What started as a campy, eye patch wearing, narcoleptic with a slight case of Tourette’s Syndrome, has been slowly forming into a psychotic smart ass with a penchant for Mischief. Either way the Rialto wouldn't be the same without his flavorful spin on the movie he calls "a piece of shit."
